Journal Mamagement Systems (JUMS) is a web-based application and operates in a browser environment. It is intended for managing the manuscript submission, manuscript review phases and publication in a journal. The main goal of the JUMS application is to:
- Perform users registration process;
- Collect and store electronic submissions;
- Manage and transfer files related to the manuscript;
- Download and view collected submissions only to authorized people at any given time;
- Track the progress of the review process of manuscripts;
- Notify by e-mail;
- View submissions made by submitters and associated comments;
- Assign Topical Editors and suggested decisions;
- Fallback Editor in Chief for Topical Editors problems;
- Assign Topical Editors to handle article;
- Allocate reviewers by topical editor;
- Provide link for reviewers to agree or decline the manuscript handling, deadline included, access to abstract, full text and manuscripts files;
- Review through electronic review form with the possibility to attach files;
- Publish a revision suggested by Reviewer and/or Topical Editor;
- Request a revision suggested by Reviewer and/or Topical Editor, followed by a repeated review;
- Revise a file upload by the Author;
- Accept and reject submissions;
- View submissions made by submitters and associated comments and reviews;
- Find manuscripts;
- Manage users;
